Pursuit of Happiness

Pursuit of happiness

An old man lived in a village. He thought that he was one of the most unfortunate people in the world. The entire village was upset with him. Because he was always depressed and always complained and remain in a bad mood.

His behaviour was getting worse with his age, and equally poisonous were his words. People used to avoid him because people started to feel that his misfortune had become contagious. It was also unnatural and it was humiliating to be happy next to him. He also instilled in others a sense of meaningless sorrow.

But, when he turned eighty, an incredible incident occurred. Immediately everyone started listening to the rumour:

"That old man is happy today, he doesn't complain about anything, smiles, and even his face freshens up."

The whole village was gathered. The old man was asked:

Villager: What happened to you?

"Nothing special. Eighty years, I was in pursuit of happiness, and I am tired of finding happiness. My quest is over. And now I have decided to live without happiness."

And since I stopped running after happiness, everything has started to look good on its own. I have never noticed how many pleasant things are around me.

Just admiring every moment of life since then. And so I am pleased now. Because now I am not running after anything, but am living my every moment. "- said that old man.

Moral of the Story:

Do not chase happiness. Enjoy every moment of the present in life.
