Whatever happens, happens for the best

Once upon a time, some people went for a few days walk on a ship. For several days, he was spending time in the sea, enjoying food, drinking and dancing and entertained with songs. One night, there was a storm in the sea, and the ship started sinking. So all the people boarded the lifeboats and started protecting their lives. And all the boats began getting away from that ship. Then one person got stuck in the ship. As he could not find a boat, he jumped into the water with the help of a rubber tube. But the storm was so strong that he could not understand where he was going. He felt that his life was going to end now. He was so afraid that he fainted.

After sometimes when he regained consciousness, he saw that he had reached the shore of an island. He got up and looked around. It was a deserted island. Probably no one ever lived here. He became discouraged and upset. He could not understand what to do. He did not even see his partner and the ship in which he was on board. So he sat under the shade of a tree and started thinking. Then he remembered that if he would get smoke with fire, maybe someone would come there to help him. He looked around but did not find any dry wood or grass. Then he took off his shirt and tried to set fire to it. And later, he got success, and it caught fire. But as the smoke was very less from it, he also burnt his trousers. Even now, it was not enough smoke. So he burned all the clothes. But the smoke did not happen so much that someone can see it and the fire extinguish too. He looked upwards and started cursing God for his condition.

Now he is convinced that he is trapped here. After thinking for a while, he decided to accumulate resources to go inside the island. After some time, he found a guava and mango tree. He broke some of it and came back to shore. He also found some broken coconuts under the coconut tree on the banks of the island. He somehow eased his hunger with those fruits. Now it was evening. But he could not sleep due to fear of darkness. And he kept awake all night. As soon as the dawn, he thought of arranging security for himself. He went back to the forest and from there brought a lot of wood, some green and dry. He also made arrangements of food for himself. Now he had agreed that he has to live here now. In the evening, he set fire with the help of dry wood, brought some light as well as heat to avoid the cold of the night.

After leaving for another night, he thought why not build a hut for his stay. He then went to the forest and started collecting the woods. Now he started doing this every day. He started to bring some wood to burn and to build the hut. After several days of hard work, he had arranged a roof to cover his head. At the same time, the heat was also increasing there. Gradually, he built a simple, large and nice hut for his stay and started living in it. One day, as usual, he went to the forest and was gathering fruits to eat. Suddenly a strong wind started blowing. He felt that a thunderstorm or storm was about to come. He went back to his hut from there.

The wind was so strong that the trees were colliding among themselves. With great difficulty, he managed to get out of the forest. Then he saw that the dry bush under two trees near his hut had caught fire due to a collision between them. He quickly moved towards his hut. But by the time he reached there, the hut was on fire. It broke his heart. His hard work of several months was burning in front of his eyes. He started crying loudly and started cursing the God. He said that he first trapped him on this deserted island. And now God set his house on fire which he built after so many months of hard work. If you want to kill me then why do not kill me at once, what is the benefit in making me sad and upset again and again.

He was very sad and cried a lot. He fell asleep while crying. After some time, he felt shaken and heard some voice. When he saw with open eyes, some people came there and were carrying him. He looked carefully, and those people were from the Navy and had come to take him on the ship. They took him on the ship, and the doctor treated him. After some time his condition became normal, then everyone asked him how you did reach that deserted island and what happened to you. He told the whole story. Then he asked how you came to know about my being there. So he told that while we were going through our path, we saw smoke rising in this direction. We know no one lives here, but due to that smoke, we decided to come here and investigate. After coming here, we saw that you were unconscious. So we brought you here.

Then he said that people who had sunk here with me, they must have reached home, living comfortably with their families. It was my bad luck only that I was rotting here for months. Then one officer said that you might not know but no passenger has been found from that ship yet.

“You are the first.”

On hearing this, his senses flew away. Now he started crying again, but now it was due to happiness. And he started thanking God with folded hands. Because now, he understood whatever was happening till now was all for his good.

That is why it had said that whatever happens happens for best. One just needs to understand it and thank God.

Moral: Many times we consider the current events or accidents to be our misfortune and curse them as God or someone responsible for them. But after sometime when we look back and see the changes and the present situation in our life due to that incident, then it is understood that what happened was good.
