Greedy Lion | लालची शेर

Once upon a time. It was summer and this day was one of the hottest, and when a lion was very hungry, he came out of his den and started searching for food nearby.

He only saw grass around. But he could not eat the grass, then he sees a mouse running in the grass. He moves and grabs the mouse. He caught the rat but the lion thought, "It can't fill my stomach."

Since the lion was hungry, he made up his mind to eat it. Just as he was about to kill the rat, a deer escaped from that path. The lion became greedy upon seeing him. Then he thought that "there is no point in eating this rat; That deer can soothe my hunger."

 

He freed the rat and he followed it to catch the deer. But the deer had disappeared into the forest. Now the lion could neither eat a deer nor a rat, and was regretting his greed.

 

Moral of the story:

Greed hurts: Available thing in hand is better than things in thoughts.

हिंदी संस्करण

एक दिन की बात है। ये गर्मियों का मौसम था और ये उसका सबसे गर्म दिन था, और एक शेर बहुत भूखा था तो वह अपनी मांद से बाहर आया और आसपास खाने की खोजबीन करने लगा। 

उसे केवल आस पास घास दिखी। पर वो घास नहीं खा सकता था, तभी उसकी नजर घास में भाग रहे एक चूहे पर पड़ती है। वो झपट कर उस चूहे को पकड़ लेता है। उसने चूहे को पकड़ तो लिया पर शेर ने सोचा, "यह मेरा पेट नहीं भर सकता।"

चूंकि शेर भूखा था तो उसने उसे ही खाने का मन बना लिया। जैसे ही वो उस चूहे को मारने वाला था, तभी उस रास्ते से एक हिरण भाग कर निकल गया। उसे देख कर शेर लालची हो गया। उसने सोचा; "इस छोटे से चूहे को खाने के बजाय, बड़े हिरण खाने  से मेरा पेट भर जायेगा।"

 

उसने चूहे को छोड़ दिया और उसने हिरण को पकड़ने के लिए उसका पीछा किया। लेकिन हिरण जंगल में गायब हो गया था। शेर अब न तो हिरण को ही खा सका और न ही उस चूहे को और वो उसे अपने लालच पर पछतावा होने लगा।

 

कहानी का सार:

लालच से नुकसान ही होता है: जो आपके पास है उसका महत्त्व उससे ज्यादा है जो आपके पास नहीं है ।
